Graduate Application Status
You can view your application status by visiting one.sjsu.edu and logging in to the SJSU App Portal. To view your status, select the MySJSU tile and navigate to Self Service > Student Center > Application Status. See below for help interpreting the statuses posted to MySJSU.

Application Received Your application has been newly received by SJSU. You will soon be assigned a checklist of to-do items in your MySJSU student portal. Incomplete-Documents Required Your application has been reviewed by the Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations office and there are outstanding documents. Check the To-Do list in your MySJSU portal for a complete list of outstanding documents and instructions for submission. CSU Eligibility Review All academic documents required have been received and are currently being evaluated for CSU eligibility. Department Review Your application has been evaluated and met CSU eligibility for graduate admission. Your academic information has been sent to the graduate department for their final review.
It typically takes 6-8 weeks to hear back from the department regarding a final admissions decision. For any follow up about your application, you may contact the department directly.
Department Review with Provisions Your application has been evaluated and met CSU eligibility for graduate admission. Your academic information has been sent to the graduate department for their final review.
If admitted, you will need to submit further documents as listed on your MySJSU “To Do” list in order to clear any provisions.

Admit by Self-Reported Data/GRAD (iSchool Programs Only) You have been pre-approved for admission into the School of Information pending the final verification of your admission documents by the Graduate Admissions & Program Evaluations office. Check the "To Do" list in your MySJSU portal for a complete list of outstanding documents and instructions for submission.
Please note: If you do not submit documents by the posted deadline specified on your "To-Do" list, your pre-approved admission will be withdrawn and you can no longer matriculate as a graduate student at SJSU for the applied admission term. Contact your program's Data Specialist with any questions.

Accepted - Classified Graduate You have been admitted as a classified graduate student. You have no additional academic conditions to complete for the program, nor do you have outstanding documents to submit.
Accepted-Provision-Clsfd Grad You have been admitted as a classified graduate student. You have no additional academic conditions to complete for the program.
You have also been admitted provisionally. Check your MySJSU "To Do" list for documents due to clear your provisional status. Note - if you do not clear your provision by the date specified on your "To Do" list, your admission will be revoked and you will not be able to register for the upcoming semester.
Accepted Conditionally You have been admitted as a conditionally classified graduate student. You are required to meet specific conditions as outlined by your graduate program. Departmental conditions are outlined in your official SJSU admission letter. All conditions must be met during your first year of study and approved by the Graduate Coordinator of your program in order to be cleared as a classified graduate student.

Denied - Low TOEFL Score Applicant denial based on low scores on the TOEFL Exam. Did not meet university TOEFL minimum requirement. See denial appeal process.

Denied - Academic Standing Applicant denial based on not being in good academic standing at the last institution attended. See denial appeal process. Denied - Low GPA Applicant denial based on not meeting the 2.5 university minimum GPA requirement.
You might consider raising your GPA by attending another institution not bound by our admission requirements. You might also consider attending Open University as a non-matriculated degree seeking student to raise your GPA.

Withdrawn-Administrative Decision The application has been withdrawn due to a special action by the admissions office. Withdrawn-Applicant Request The application has been withdrawn due to applicant request. Withdrawn-Did Not Meet Cond Application has been withdrawn based on not meeting admission conditions set forth by the program department (i.e. submission of department application, test scores, incomplete program application, etc).
