Digital Humanities Center

SJSU's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library and the College of Humanities and Arts are excited to bring a Digital Humanities Center to the university with the support of an Infrastructure Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The fundraising challenge has been completed. Unfortunately, the NEH cancelled the final year of the grant. However, Dean Shannon Miller was able to close the gap on the remaining budget. The DH Center is open, available, and thriving in collaboration with Associate Dean, Christina Mune, King Library. The DH Center is also partnered with the San Jose Public Library to bring our community mission to fruition.
Read more about how the missions, vision, and values for this incredible facility were established: "Where Belonging Meets Innovation: Building a Public Digital Humanities Center in a Joint-Use Library [pdf]" by Nick Szydlowski, Christina Mune, and Samantha Cramer (ACRL 2025).
